These snickers stuffed dates taste just like the real thing but are made with 4 simple ingredients: medjool dates, peanut butter, salty peanuts and dark chocolate. Vegan and gluten-free.
Halloween is right around the corner, which means we just can't stop thinking about CANDY 🍬🍫🍭 But who are we kidding, we're always thinking about *sweets*😆 We're all about treating yourself to those indulgent sweets we all crave, but too much indulgence can leave ya feeling crummy from all the additives, preservatives, fillers, etc. So when you're craving some indulgence, but want to avoid the sugar hangover, we've got the perfect date recipe for you.
Some "healthier" versions of classic sweets turn out to be quite disappointing, but we promise these Snickers Stuffed Dates won't! All you need are four simple ingredients to create these vegan, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free treat! Medjool dates are a magic ingredient when it comes to creating classic candies into better-for-you versions.
Ingredients you'll need:
-
- Joolies Dates
- You can't stuff a date without a date! We love using our pitted option for these, but whole work just as well! Just be sure to remove the pit😉If you're running low on your stock of dates, you can buy some in bulk right here or in our 2 pack right here!
- Peanut Butter
- We went with creamy, but if you want some crunch...go crunchy😉 Whether you're creamy or crunchy we recommend using a peanut butter with no added oils or sugars. Some of our favorites are Wild Friends and Georgia Grinders!
- Peanuts
- These will give us that crunch we all love in a snickers candy bar! Roasted/unroasted/salt/no salt work perfect, it's all on your personal preference.
- Dark Chocolate Chips
- We recommend using a dark chocolate without fillers, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and stuff like that (it melts a whole ton easier without it and is much better for your health)! Some of our favorites are Enjoy Life dark chocolate morsels and Hu dark chocolate gems 🍫
- Coconut Oil
- Adding a little bit of this into our melted chocolate helps keep it from drying out and allows it to harden faster when placed in the freezer! Plus coconut oil also contains healthy fatty acids called MCTs which promote brain function.
- Joolies Dates
